As a member of the organisation, GeoComply will have access to a range of resources and the WLA network of members that includes businesses in more than 80 countries around the world.
GeoComply provides geolocation for anti-fraud solutions in numerous industries, including gambling, and counts a number of WLA member lotteries among its customers.
“Our mission is to make the internet a safer place for everyone, and we are thrilled to support the lottery sector, which shares our values and a commitment to responsible gambling and good causes,” GeoComply chief executive and co-founder Anna Sainsbury said.
WLA executive director Luca Esposito added: “As online gaming continues to grow, services provided by GeoComply help our industry to protect consumers against identity theft, support lotteries to prevent fraud, while promoting a responsible industry.
“We are delighted to welcome GeoComply to the WLA family.”
The news comes after GeoComply last month announced it was to target growth into new markets after confirming new minority investments by funds managed by Norwest Venture Partners and Arctos Sports Partners.
The values and shareholdings involved in the transactions were not publicly disclosed, but GeoComply said that the new funds would help the company to expand into new verticals and strengthen its position in core markets.
